bio
Megan Letky is an accomplished violinist and educator living in Los Angeles, California. She earned her Master of Music in Violin Performance and Pedagogy from the University of Oregon under the tutelage of Fritz Gearhart and her Bachelor of Music in Music Education from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, where she primarily studied with Deann Letourneau.
With over 10 years of experience, Megan finds joy in teaching children both privately and in an orchestral setting. She is certified in Every Child Can!, Suzuki Violin Units 1 and 2, Music Mind Games Unit 1, and has taken graduate-level pedagogy courses on Suzuki Violin books 1-4.
Megan has recently joined the Manhattan Beach Unified School District, where she will be directing the elementary strings program. Prior to that, she spent five years as a Teaching Artist for the Los Angeles Philharmonic’s YOLA program at Camino Nuevo Charter Academy. During that time, Megan transitioned into a full-time role as the Elementary Orchestra Director and Music Department Lead for CNCA Kayne Siart.
Megan also practices and teaches yoga, and is highly interested in wellness and the important role that it plays in being a musician. She enjoys slow living, cooking, being outside, and spending time with family.
